Absolutely gorgeous, but as other reviewers have stated, this entire trail rarely lets up. Giant Mountain offers a diversity of ascent options, but I’ll admit to playing favorites. - Views from Rocky Peak Ridge were phenomenal and I can't wait to go back there and keep hiking past the summit on the East Trail over the open ridge. The descent is steep off Giant towards RPR, but in the winter I think it's an easier walk than in the summer. You will see (and pass by) the trail intersection for Rocky Peak Ridge - dont worry, you'll head that way on the way down. I waited in hopes of the clouds lifting, but gave up after an hour. If you are not physically active I would not recommend this hike, bring plenty of water, you will need it. It had been warmer over the weekend than my 19° start, so I was able to “bare boot” it until just shy of the summit.
